1 cup of oatmeal

2 cups of almond milk, oat milk or other vegetable milk

Teaspoon of cinnamon

3 strawberries

5 raspberries

7 blueberries

Half hand of walnuts

Half hand of almonds

How do you Prepare this Healthy oatmeal Breakfast?

I always let the oatmeal last for a night (not necessarily) in cold water so you do not have to cook it in the morning and the oatmeal is easy to digest.

Put a cup of oatmeal (more or less according to energy requirements) together with 2 cups of cold water or vegetable milk in a pan. Cover the pan with a lid or cling film and put it in the refrigerator.

In the morning, remove the pan from the refrigerator and place it on a medium heat.

When it is boiling, turn down the heat and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. Stir occasionally and stay close because it burns quickly. I speak from experience ;-).

Put the oatmeal in a bowl and stir in a teaspoon of cinnamon.

Cut the strawberries into slices and garnish the oatmeal together with raspberries and blueberries.

Finally sprinkle the walnuts and almonds over it and eat tasty!

As an alternative or variation you can also prepare the oatmeal with slices of apple instead of strawberries, raspberries and blueberries. Or choose your own fruit combination that you like best. For example, you can also choose pieces of pineapple, pear, mango, cherry, or orange. Be creative 🙂

Oatmeal boiled or Uncooked Food?

We regularly get the question “Do you have to cook oatmeal first before you can eat it?”.

In principle, it is not necessary to cook the oatmeal first before you eat it. Most intestines have no problem digesting raw oatmeal.

I sometimes hear a few times that people find it hard on the stomach. But these are exceptions and this feeling usually disappears after eating a few times.

I do not drink cow’s milk myself. It could cause mucus around your organs and mucous membranes. Others claim that soymilk contains growth and female hormones. Also the soy would often be genetically manipulated. But yes, could the small amount of 6% soy in soy milk be harmful? I think we do not have to worry about that.

I can not tell you with certainty … I do not have the wisdom to rent and I think that more research needs to be done. In any case, I would not just listen to the producers and marketers;-)

If you doubt cow’s milk or soy milk then there are fortunately enough healthy alternatives. In addition to the above-mentioned milks, you can also prepare the oatmeal with hazelnut milk or rice milk (thanks for your tip Danielle).

These healthy milks are available at health food stores and nowadays also in most supermarkets. Buy the varieties that contain little or no sugar or sweeteners. This alternative milk is also suitable for people with lactose intolerance (note: do not drink almond milk or hazelnut milk if you have a nut allergy).
